Crannog lies in the North West corner of Donegal. It is situated in the Gaeltacht community of Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore). It benefits from some of Donegal's most outstanding and unspoilt scenery with mountains, beaches, rivers and vales galore.

The nearest village, Gort a Choirce (Gortahork) is only 5km away. Here you can find everything you could need with shops, restaurants, pubs and churches. The nearest sandy beach is Magheroarty which is 2.5km away.

The nearest commerical airport is Derry City Airport and from here you can hire a car. There is also a smaller airport closer to the cottage called Carrickfinn.
